Hi fellow slide guitar player. Winston Hey, one of our fellow slide guitar players sent me this picture of Ry and his Strat.
Check out Ry's guitar and the odd looking bridge. Any idea what it is ?
Winston has been playing Open E for 30 years with a metal slide on acoustics. He recently bought a Bill Nash S57 (Fender Strat) with an Emery Sound Micro Baby amp. He is now looking at National Steel guitars. - Very good taste in guitars :)
Any of you know what that gadget is. I think I once read that this is a device that Ry had custom made. It's activated by pressing it against his hip and changes pitch kind of like a vibrato. I am not sure, but I'll bet one of you know.
Thanks Denny

This was talked about in the May, 2003 issue of Guitar Player;
page 76; Ry referring to his modified '67 Fender Stratocaster: "...The pickup in the bridge position is a replicated Bigsby eight-string steel guitar pickup made by Paul Warni(c)k. It's a fantastic-sounding pickup...";
page 77; referring to his Bigsby Tri-Neck Pedal Steel: "...This is a thing of beauty, and my prized possession...Paul Warnik put this one together from salvaged parts..."
Hope this helps.
